Phil Lippincott not only is continuing to run Scott Paper but is periodically kibitzing at Campbell Soup where he has just joined the board of directors. This adds to a long and distinguished list of charitable and business organizations that he assists.

Alan Dessoff has just recently announced the opening of his office in Chevy Chase, Md., where he will consult in public felations, public affairs, and marketing communications. He had been director of public information at the American Forest Institute.

Bill Breer is moving from Germany to Japan where he will be the political counselor in the United States Embassy in Tokyo. This is a key job in one of our most important missions. Bill has obviously continued to impress a lot of the right people.

Gary Gilson has moved back to Minneapolis after a number of years with television stations in New York and Los Angeles. Gary is working for KTCA-TV where he is host of the "Night Times" program.

Charley Grafton has been named northeastern regional area vice president of marketing and sales for AT&T Information Systems. His product is telecommunications equipment and service to business and government that aid in the movement of the voice and data information. His territory will be all of New England except for Connecticut. A native of Baltimore, Md., Charley joined Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company right after graduation.

Will Sogg, class of '56, sent in a newspaper article proving that one man can make a difference when that one man is Howie Abrams. The newspaper story is from the Evansville Press in Indiana and describes how Howie, now the president of de Jongs Clothing Stores, decided to fix an outdoor town clock that was a well-known local landmark but had been broken for years. There were a number of obstacles in accomplishing this, and the local opinion was that it could not be done. However, eventually, Howie was able to line up both government funds and an electrical company capable of repairing the clock. Evansville folk are now very appreciative of Howie and are looking.for other miracles for him to perform.

Bob Adelizzi was recently honored by the San Diego Press Club for his contributions to the San Diego community. The honor took the form of a citation at the Press Club's tenth annual "Headliners" banquet, which recognized Bob as a business headliner for leading his company, Home Federal Savings and Loan, in one of the most successful public stock offerings in San Diego history. Well done, Bob!!

Jim Vohr has retired from the navy and is living in Northfield, Mass. He splits his time between being chairman of physics and electrical engineering at Holyoke Community College and participating in an employment service.

Dan Fearn was one of the lucky ones who had a clear idea of his career objective way back in his senior year at Dartmouth: the life of an expatriate businessman. He has achieved that objective and is presently the general manager of Goodyear in Turkey, living in the lovely city of Istanbul.

Larry Silberman is sallying forth on another quest; this time he has come to the aide of a fair damsel, Review reporter Teresa Polenz. I suspect that most of you are aware of this flap which involves Teresa's taping of a meeting of the Gay Students Association. She is being investigated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's office with possible additional disciplinary action by Dartmouth. This is a complicated case that is even giving the American Civil Liberties Union fits, since it involves interests of gay students' privacy on one hand and freedom of the press on the other. In any case, I am sure that Teresa is appreciative of being represented by our talented classmate who was formally deputy attorney general of these United States.

I have yet to receive my first submission on how any of you has spent his 50th birthday. You can't all be that young. However, in that spirit, the following is a submission by Dick Vaules which is very much to the point:

Our class notes move from back to front So quickly year by year; I guess they'll keep on moving up Until they disappear. So all new graduates take note; It will e'er be this way; Enjoy the place you find them now 'Cause that's not where they'll stay.
