Quality will have to be stressed this month instead of quantity, inasmuch as your Secretary has little to impart. The big piece of quality news is that Frank and Elizabeth Horan have announced the birth of a son, John Rogers Horan, on January 19 in New York. Frank says briefly: "Our first, <md we are enormouslypleased."

And I am sure the class will share in their joy and join with me in official congratulations.

As this piece is being written, the Dartmouth Club of Boston is holding its annual dinner. I expect a report of the '22 men there, but was unable to go myself due to a matter of great importance in the newspaper and sporting world occurring in Providence this same day.

In the Jan. 20 issue of the Wall StreetJournal, under the column entitled, "Bonds and Bond Men," appeared an item which started out as follows: "Some 30 representatives of the Investment Bankers'Conference, Inc., are scheduled to attendthe meeting of the conference's governingcommittee at the Waldorf-Astoria, NewYork City, next Monday and Tuesday." Among the representatives listed was John Blunt 3d, of Lee Higginson Corporation, Chicago, a member of the conference's advisory council.
