The College has named Donald L. Hense to the new position of Washington, D.C., representative for Dartmouth. Hense will represent the College's interests to the various branches of the federal government; he will keep Hanover informed of relevant developments in Washington, communicating through the office of Provost Agnar Pytte; and he will solicit federal funds for research and student aid. Hense received an A.B. in economics and political science in 1970 from Morehouse College, for which he later established a Washington office. He has also held federal liaison positions for Boston University and Howard University. Currently a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford, he has been granted fellowships from the NDEA and the Ford Foundation and has served numerous civic and educational organizations both nationally and in the Washington area.

■ Edwin L. Johnson '67 has been appointed to the new position of director of financial services and associate treasurer of the College; in addition, he will become chief budget officer upon the retirement next June of Treasurer William P. Davis. Johnson received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School in 1971 and has been at the College since 1982, as associate controller. He previously served in the U.S. Army and in financial and management positions for Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, N.H., and a regional planning commission in southern Vermont.
