If you were unable to attend the Wearers of the Green banquet in person, or if you did and want to have a memento or two to remind you of it all, there are three items which are still available through the Office of Alumni Programs.
First off is the four-color, limited edition poster designed specifically for the occasion by John Scotford '38. The long, proud tradition of Dartmouth athletics is well represented in this handsome poster, the front of which consists of a collage of some 25 photographic images of Dartmouth athletes ranging from stiff poses characteristic of the late 19t'h century ,to tight action shots taken in more recent times. On the back is a comprehensive listing of the Wearers of the Green by sport.
Second is the official souvenir program presented by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Eastern Massachusetts to benefit the United States Olympic team and the DAAEM Scholarship Fund. Studded with pictures, the 64-page program is a storehouse of information, a must for anyone interested in Dartmouth athletics. Of particular note is the format "a collection of reflections, varied in approach, rather than a structured narrative chronicling names and events."
And finally, there is Barry Braverman '76's splendid film, "The Wearers of the Green," a poignant remembrance of great moments and great figures in Dartmouth sports history. Narrated by Seaver Peters '54, the film is perfect for club viewing (contact Dave Orr '57 for details). The video cassette can be purchased for $40, while the poster and the program are available for $5 each from Office of Alumni Programs, 305 Blunt Alumni Center, Hanover, New Hampshire 03755.
