The '28 mini-reunion will be held October 11-12 at the Norwich Inn, the 30th anniversary of our annual fall reunion. We have been fortunate to have a local chairman, Herb Sensenig, who has made reservations well in advance each year at the Norwich Inn. Last year a record 78 classmates and guests just about filled the Ranger Room for the Saturday night dinner, including 14 '28 grandchildren who spoke briefly about Dartmouth and their plans for the future. Six of these grandchildren were in the entering class, but as these notes were written (in August), no one has told me of any '28 grandchildren in the class of 1989.

Milt and Peggy Hoefle are happy at Heritage Village in Southbury, Conn., along with Adelaide Drake, Craig andEleanor Haines, Bob and Mildred Kilgore, and Doc and Mildred Simonds. Milt met Peggy in 1928 when she was a nurse at Mary Hitchcock Hospital; after Milt got his M.D. from Columbia University and finished his residency, they were married in 1934. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in Bermuda, with the whole family going along, including son Frank '57, a surgeon like his father.

Willis Mitchell dropped in to visit George Boughton in Delray Beach last spring, and they had a great time talking about the old days in the Alpha Delt house. Mitch tipped me off about the recent induction of George into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale. Later I drove over from nearby Hollywood and saw prominently displayed the large newspaper clipping captioned, "National High School Champions 1924. Atlantic City High School's Team." George was in the front row. Remember Bob MacPhail, George Boughton, and Howie Moss playing fullback on freshman football team, and the 1925 New England Swimming Intercollegiates, where the final and deciding event was the relay, won by Bolles '25, Ballantyne '27, Tobey '27, and our George. George and Agnes still own the lovely Colony Hotels in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Delray Beach and reject constant attempts to buy them. George says he has a pacer and an artificial hip but gets along fine.

Hoyt Thompson reports that Katie and he spend the entire summer at their summer home in Northport Point, Mich., then move back to Kenilworth, Ill. Hoyt says: "I gave up any form of work (mortage banking in Chicago) four years ago, still play golf . . . went to Arizona last winter but travel is restricted by emphysema, which so. far is not too bad. Am looking forward to our 60th reunion."

Gordon Adams, who lives in Benton Harbor, Mich., visited his three children this summer, all of whom live in the New York City area. Gordon spends the winter in Winter Haven, Fla.

Last summer Franklin and Mary Folsom, of Ward, Colo., toured Egypt, Israel, England, and Scotland for two months. Mary, under her pen name of Mary Elting, had five books published in 1984 by Grosset and Dunlap, including "The Answer Book About Computers" and other "answer" books.

The class has lost two members since our last notes: John H. D. Lawrence on August 1 after a long illness with emphysema, and Barrett D. Stoler on August 15, six weeks after it was discovered that he had lung cancer. We also regret the sad passing of Parker Chick's wife, Kitty, after a lengthy illness. They had a wealth of friends in Naples, Fla., where they spent winters, and in Chatham, Mass., which was their home.
