The well-known "Pea-Green Freshman" song asks the question, "Where oh where are the rich alumni?" For many '85s, the answer to that might be "Broke at last with grad school loans!"

Bob "Woo Pig" Abraham is working toward a wealth of knowledge. He's attending physics grad school in Southern California - a big change from the cold Novembers in Hanover. Erica Berl is studying at Cornell Vet School. Unfortunately, she had to leave her horse, Dighton, at home. Kathleen Buckley chose Boston University Medical School.

Heidi Clark had so many great music schools to choose from that I'm not sure where she is. Last I heard, she was planning to go to Indiana University. AndyCohen is another person who had some tough decisions, Should it be Harvard Law or Yale? He decided on Yale. Modest Jill Owens is at Harvard.

According to Frances Gmur's friends at Morton Farm, she is in med school in New York. Alison Cooper chose a med school in her home state of New York as well. Mark Perezous is in med school somewhere, too, rumor has it.

I've received news that a few more '85s are at Thayer this year. Chris Hinkle,Bob Scrivanek, and Greg Lasonde join the other '85s I mentioned in previous columns in the engineering program. Kate Dean enrolled at UMass/Amherst's Hotel Management School. Claire McEachern spent the summer in Hanover assisting a professor with the writing of a book. She then moved to the Midwest to attend UChicago.

Good luck to all on your first set of exams! For Mark Byrne, the end is in sight. As part of Tuck's three-two program, he's in his last year!

While some '85s are dropping further in debt, many are working their way out of the red through gainful employment. Harry Bourque, for example, was last seen driving limousines in New Jersey, though by now he's probably made it to Wall Street. Sharon Matthews is working hard for Goldman, Sachs in mergers and acquisitions. If she ever gets a chance to come up for air, I'd love to hear from her. Lucy Harvey and Missi Reinkemeyer are sharing an apartment and working somewhere in New York City, too.

Joe McGee is an assistant account executive for Saatchi and Saatchi, the world's largest advertising agency. On the side, he's playing with his band, Sinners Toyz, in Boston and New York. Troy Miksen may catch one of Joe's concerts in Boston, since he's living there while working as a broker for Kidder Peabody. Bob Ramsey is also in Boston. He's in the Bank of Boston's training program.

John Duer is in the army, and he's stationed in West Germany. Karen Lust is working somewhere in Washington, D.C. My sources say that John Earley accepted a job selling computers for FYI in NYC. That means he's working with two other alumni, Bill Connolly '84 and Paul Herzog '84. Scott Borek is an assistant coach with Providence College, which has a first-rate college hockey team.

On the subject of hockey, last year's cocaptain, Bob Jangro, is teaching and coaching at Cardigan Mountain School in Canaan, N.H. The other cocaptain, ToddSeutef, left the ice to go to Los Angeles, where he sells wine for Gallo. Andy Kidd and Jay McLaughlin are sharing an apartment in Washington, D.C.

Doug Fulton is working in public relations for a Midwest airline. He's based in his home-state of Minnesota and living with Steve Parry. Dave Hall is in New Jersey, employed by Prudential Life Insurance. Also there is Ray Bascio '84.

Paul Adkins, Manus Clancy, CurtisSimmons, and Steve Haeckel are all working in New York City. On top of that, they are sharing an apartment. This foursome has been together since the spring of '82 when they were all on the LSA program in Blois, France. In their spare time, I'm sure they are playing stickball with the neighborhood children. I hope they are also storing vintage wines in their apartment's cave for the five-year Blois reunion!
