A few notes from Delray Beach - the jewel of the Gold Coast (advt.) - CharlieWarner is in Lauderdale and we hope to see him soon - Furb and Mary Haight '21 paid us a short visit en route for a cruise on the "Franconia" - the impending arrival of Ort and Lois Hicks, V.P. in charge, has the East Coast Dartmouth crowd on edge. - Stopped in to see Charlie and Frances (the new bride) McGoughran '20 in Lauderdale, with Ed. and Ginny Bowen, also '20 and we found the newlyweds very happy. At the moment, three trustees of the College are in town at the Country Club of Florida - Charlie Zimmerman '23, Bob Oelman '31, and Bill Buchanan '24, they are working hard on their golf games. Bill reported improvement. Lucy Henderson, widow of Alex, joined a Dartmouth Delray group for dinner a short time ago, and hopes to make Hanover next summer she will be traveling to Hawaii soon for a few weeks.

A letter from Bill Embree '21 from Chicago notes that he sat next to Bri Greeley at a recent Dartmouth luncheon. Other Florida visitors at the moment are Ed andBea Martin, in Lauderdale to be near brother Joe. Chet and Virginia Demond were in Delray for a short stay and your Secretary and Chet, wearing his favorite knickers, had a nice game of golf on a fine day, and he won, period.

Florence Carey, secretary to Jim McFate, manager of the Hanover Inn, confirms the fact that our class luncheon before the Penn game on October 14 will be in Alumni Hall in Hopkins Center, as it was last fall. Things will open up about 11:30 so let your struggling Secretary know as far ahead of time as possible if you will be on hand and with how many guests. Our headquarters will be at the Woodstock Inn, as per usual, and it is not too early to advise Dave Beach, the manager, that you will be there for the October 13-15 assembly of the 1919 clan.

Stu Russell reports that the four stories of the new Hanover Inn are up and now all they have to do is complete the insides. With weather reports from Hanover of lots of snow, and 25 to 35 degrees below zero (this is a February report) it could be that construction has been delayed somewhat.

Wentz Ruml Jr. of East Orange, N. J., past president and current secretary of the Dog Writers Association of America, was named "Dog Writer of the Year." Wentz was honored for his writing in the DWAA Bulletin and dog magazines and for the standards he set in the years he handled the publicity and the press room for the Westminster dog show.

Bill McMahon, of 10 Robins Crescent, New Rochelle, N. Y. 10801, notes in his thanks for the new class birthday card, "We has-beens, who have been around a long time, roll with the punches each new card gives us, but we love to get them. Have a good winter and tell me, are you pointing out the location of the new golf course or selling plots!!!."

Quoting from Ray Buck's "Bulletin" un- der the heading "Alumni College Attracts" is the following, "With little more than a month gone by since the ALUMNI MAGAZINE with the special 1967 Alumni College Supplement reached alumni, the number of people who have submitted registration forms and fees has already surpassed 150. Some 67 children have been registered for the junior program. In addition, some forty or so alumni and wives have signified their interest in attending the '67 session, August 13 to 24. For details write Walter I. Miller, Executive Secretary, Alumni College, Crosby Hall, Hanover, N. H. 03755." To your Secretary's knowledge, no 'l9ers have ever attended this most interesting and instructive affair, and it is about time that we were represented.

By the time this issue of the MAGAZINE reaches you, you will have heard from FredDaley or his assistants regarding the 1967 Alumni Fund. 1919's quota this year is larger than last year's with fewer members to call, so please give this your most thoughtful consideration and dig a little deeper in 1967.
