As I left in late May on a Naval Reserve trip to Iceland, reunion planning was in full swing, and more classmates and families were signing up each day. As this letter went to press we expected 90 classmates and 195 family members for what was to be pur best reunion ever! Those who attended can judge for themselves, and I'm sure they will want to have their say via this column or the newsletter. Those who couldn't make this reunion will see photos in this issue and read about it in the next column and newsletter. 'Tis a certainty that reunion chairman Larry Duffy and his helpers will have been rewarded with the traditional round of snaps for their efforts.

Our new class officers will have taken over by now, also, and they will be introduced via class media. It has been fun, interesting, and educational being a part of this group, ably led by president Jock Hosmer, and I will miss the camaraderie. Well done, guys; you've made this five years pass quickly and well. Nominating committee chairman SteveWaterhouse was hard at work recruiting the best talent available to be approved at the class meeting.

Snaps also to our reunion gift cochairmen, Ted Atkinson and Carl Boe.

And a round of snaps to all of you who provided input to this column and/or to JackHeidbrink's superb newsletter. Communication is the essence, and we become more closely knit because of it. So keep it up, and give our successors the substance they need to keep the class informed.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank the Alumni Magazine staff and, in particular, my two editors: Dana Grossman and her successor, Teri Allbright. They were most helpful as well as being encouraging, motivating, and above all else, patient. An honorary, but well-deserved, round of snaps from my writing hand to them - may they have a next class secretary who will be creative, literate, and have a far better sense of deadlines than I did.

And now in those words Billy Joel has immortalized, "Keep the faith!"

Thanks for letting me have some fun over the past five years.
