I received a news clipping from Atlantic City, N.J. which started off "What happens when a local boy makes good in Washington, D.C.?" These days that could call to mind many possibilities, but all turned out well as I continued reading. Roger Witten was the subject of the art cle and he was recently appointed to the legal staff of Archibald Cox, special Watergate prosecutor, Rog was "unavailable for comment" it seems bat word has it that he is working in the campaign financing part of the investigation. Another source close to the situation reports that Rog, along with a staff of about 25 other attorneys, puts in a 12-hour day, six days a week at a private office building rented by the Justice Department Before this latest appointment Roger and his wife Jill had been living in Baltimore where Rog clered for a federal judge. A graduate of Harvard Law School in 1972, Roger was quoted as saying Cox chose mostly Harvard graduates because he was "able to get quick and accurate judgements about their capabilities." Best wishes, Roger, and when it's all over the Class will look forward to your book about it ... or at least an article in the Alumni Magazine.

A letter from his mother this summer told us that Captain Rob Peacock is still "missing in action." Rob's plane was shot down over North Vietnam on October 12, 1972. He was piloting an A-6A Intruder all-weather attack jet. His name has not ever appeared on any prisoner list released by the North Vietnamese since the ceasefire. While at Dartmouth Robbie was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity and Casque and Gauntlet Honor Society, as well as a member of the lacrosse team. Mrs. Peacock writes that "Rob loved Dartmouth, its atmosphere and the many fine friends he made there." I can only add that I knew Rob well and the many friends he had all over campus will be very saddened to learn of this news. We all will hope for a miracle and wish his family our sincere sympathies for their suffering in not knowing Rob's whereabouts. Classmates wishing to write may address letters to Mr. and Mrs. J. Robert Peacock, 46-214 Koaena Place, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744.
