An early A.M. phone call from DickGriggs, the class's most prolific insurance salesman, revealed that at least two of our classmates are suffering from thinning blood. Dick had just talked to Jay Emery in Hanover, who reported he was not heading to the Skiway today due to the 15-below-zero temperature. Then Dick said the four-above-zero temperature in New Jersey was too much for him, so he and Lois are heading to Jamaica to thaw. What happened to the granite in those veins?

A news clipping from The San FranciscoChronicle reported that Roy Eisenhardt, president of the Oakland Athletics, had been named to the recently expanded board of directors of ComputerLand Corporation. I'm sure Roy's legal training as well as his negotiating expertise will hold him in good stead in the determination of that troubled company's future.

Further word from California reports that Tom Beadel's son, Rob, is a freshman at Dartmouth. He attended a small prep school in Santa Barbara together with Peter Ueberroth's daughter. Both applied for early admission; both were accepted. Now the big question is whether Roy Eisenhardt had anything to do with a package deal involving the commissioner of baseball?

Allen Stowe Attended his first session of the Alumni Council in November and found it "really interesting." Both WayneGivens and Jon Cohen are also serving on the Council, Wayne as the representative from the Rochester Alumni Club and Jon as the Tuck School rep. We won't always have as many voices in Hanover, so if you want to unload some alumni concerns, do it before their next three-day meeting in May. Allen says he will publish some sort of Alumni Council "news" for the class, initially on a semiannual basis. It will be interesting to get some firsthand news from Hanover. In fact, it would be interesting to get some news from anyone. Keep those cards, letters, and phone calls coming.
