I hope that all of you are making plans to attend our 15th reunion, June 13-15, 1986. The reunion committee, headed by Tom Peisch, is actively making arrangements for the reunion. The plans sound terrific. I was able to get to the last two reunions myself and enjoyed them thoroughly. The nicest part about it is that the reunions are informal, and it is a delightful surprise that so many people one knew come back. You even have a chance to meet people whom you really never got to know well. Nobody puts on airs, and it is really therapeutic to find out that everybody else has experienced the same ups and downs that you have. Anyway, it's an awful lot of fun.
I spoke with Greg Kean by phone not too long ago. He is now at Shearson Lehman/American Express in the mortgage finance area after having spent a number of years at Chase Manhattan Bank. Greg is married and has a daughter. He and his family live in Manhattan, not too far from me. In the "it's a small world" department, it turns out that Greg had lived in the same apartment house that I am now in and left for a new apartment some 20 blocks away shortly before I arrived. Greg mentioned that he occasionally gets a chance to speak with Jeff Dahlmann and keeps in touch with some of the other members of our class as well.
It turns out that our classmate James S.Sligar is also in New York City, working as a member of the legal staff for the Rockefeller Family and Associates. AfterDartmouth he graduated from Harvard Law School and went on to work for the well-regarded law firm of Webster and Sheffield in the City. He was lucky enough to get general law practice experience before settling into the trusts and estates and the not-for-profit area. His background includes extensive work with not-for-profit organizations with respect to their taxation, charitable giving, and broader legal matters, as well as in estate planning and trust and estate administration. He is a member of the board of directors of Planned Parenthood of Westchester and has recently been elected as a director of the Council of New York Law Associates. Jim and his wife, Diane Sattleberger, who is an internal computer consultant at Mobil, live in Hartsdale, N.Y.
