This column is being written in the middle of February. By the time you read it the snow will be gone, the maple syrup season will be behind us, the ice will be out of the lake, some of the early arrival of the summer birds will be seen, and early flowers will be out, especially on the protected side of the house where the sun shines most of the day. And garden plants, green grass, and leaves will soon be coming along, along with those little pesky black flies. Remember them? This has been a good winter and the skiing has been excellent since Thanksgiving a good season for the ski lift operators.
I would like to think the above happenings and life in New Hampshire would take you back 75 years or so and that you would find time to drop me one of those old penny post cards (now 14 cents). As you know, names make the column. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.
