Norman E. "Sandy" McCulloch Jr. 50, president and chief executive officer of Microfibres in Pawtucket, R. 1., and a Trustee of Dartmouth since 1975, was elected chairman of the Dartmouth board in June. He succeeds Walter Burke '44, who has served as chairman of the board since June 1983. McCulloch chairs the executive committee of the Dartmouth board and serves on the Committee on Investments and the Committee on Alumni and Public Affairs. He was national chairman of the $200-million Campaign for Dartmouth in 1981, the president of the Alumni Council in 1971, and is the Trustee representative on the John Sloane Dickey Endowment.

Dartmouth Trustee George B. Munroe '43 of New York City was elected vice chairman of the board. Munroe, chairman of the board of Phelps Dodge Corporation, holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He has served on the board since 1977.
