Dartmouth certainly has a good chance to equal or better last year's record of 16-9 overall, 12-2 in the Ivy League. Every starting player from last year's Ivy League champion team is returning. Besides experience, the team's strengths include flexibility, depth and Liz Walter '89, the only unanimous choice for last year's All-Ivy first team. To put it more bluntly, coach Jacqueline Hullah says the only weakness of this year's team, if it has one, is the possibility of falling into the trap of taking success for granted. Team members "know what to expect" in the league but "need to concentrate weekly," Hullah said. Hullah also cited the "pride factor" of playing in Leede Arena as a plus for the team. "I think the gym is an advantage," Hullah said. "Our attitude has to be that you're not going to beat us at home.

"Women's basketball teams in the Ivy League are all close in talent,"Hullah said, adding that Harvard, Yale and Princeton will be the teams to beat. "We're a successful program," Hullah said, although she said she did not think the team got enough student turnout at games. "The team does not get the support from its peer group," she said.

First-team All-Ivy last season, junior LizWalter is one key to this year's success.
