Faculty Dean Dwight Lahr and Dean of the College Edward Shanahan have approved plans for the establishment of a women's resource center. The choice of the center's location has yet to be made, but College officials expect to have it open by fall. It will have a first-year budget of $65,000. Establishment of the center was recommended in a report drafted by a presidential committee of students, faculty and administrators. The report described the center as a place where women at the College could "come together to gather the support and knowledge to confront their marginal status."
