If you ever lose some thing at the beach, call a clamraker. Case in point: Clammer Kenny Strohl was at work on

Huntington Bay, Long Island, last March when he found a gold 1948 Dartmouth class ring on the end of his rake. It had a name engraved on it, Eric Swanson. Strohl called the College to inquire after Swanson's whereabouts but found that he had died in 1990. Swanson's widow, Alice, still lives in Huntington, though, and Strohl delivered the ring to her in person. Mrs. Huntington was delighted and amazed the ring had been lost 35 years earlier when the couple had first moved to the area.
