Reunion notes! "Cam"Cameron is still hawking the superior taste of those Deer Isle lobsters. He continues to pursue his gardening activities but now has raised beds so that he does not have to stoop over to pull weeds. It was learned that Bill Montgomery, who used to be with the Bruce Dodson Insurance Co. of Kansas City for most of his active life, pioneered the group unemployment insurance policies for trade associations.
He first sold the idea to the Virginia Lumberman's Association and now he tells me that this group business is the backbone of the company's business. Dick White's old association, the American Association of Nurseymen now carries one of Dodson's group policies and it is saving them thousands of dollars.
George Von Kapff was certainly the most active of the four of us who returned, even though he is the oldest. He goes to Florida, and his sister Eleanor accompanied him to Hanover for the reunion. He takes just pride in the fact that he has led the class of '18 to the Green Derby position #1 for several years with the help of Pat Stoddard, who is in charge of memorial gifts. Dick White was lucky to get a free ride to Concord, N.H., with friends living across the street, whose daughter lives in Concord. Bill Montgomery's daughter Ferol took us both to Hanover and came and picked us up after the reunion was over. Both Bill and Dick carried "walking sticks" as the English would say. Dick is still active in community affairs in Leisure World of Maryland, where he has lived for 16 years. We were all glad to see so many loyal widows who have been attending reunions for many years: AlbertaBlandin, Marian Bingham, Betty Booth,Irene Davis, Lois Morse, and of course Pat Stoddard, who did all the arranging for the reunion for which we were all grateful. If it were not for such loyalty, the class would be much poorer in spirit.
