Late last year our classmate Reuben Samuels was chosen to receive the Moles award. This prestigious honor is not given for undercover work à la Le Carre but for "outstanding achievement in construction." The Moles is a national organization of individuals in heavy construction, and their award is perhaps the most coveted in the industry. The presentation in late January at a dinner in New York honored Reuben for over 30 years in engineering foundations and tunnels for Crimmins Constructors Inc. He is considered an expert in this field and is often called as a consultant to other engineers. Many of New York's major postwar office buildings stand on foundations by Reuben. No wonder the Moles upheld his outstanding accomplishments.
