More innovation from the guys in Class Notes, down the hall next to the water cooler. After last month's conjugal horror show, the Power That Is—that is, me—put his foot down and declared a sweeping onemonth moratorium on weddings. Hence, this: the first-ever Marriage-Free Class Notes. If you have so much as received a .wedding invitation in the last decade, you might as well toss this issue and wait for the next one in May.
Jersey, reporting to state treasurer Feather O'Connor. How Bob can say good morning to his boss each day and keep a straight face is beyond me, but he does that and sits on the State and Local Expenditure and Revenue Policy Commission, too.
We (and when I say "we," I mean JennyToolin) heard a while ago from Mike Komara, who corresponds on Linus notepaper. Mike does not mention being married, thank goodness. He does admit to buying a new home in Palm Bay, Fla., from which he drives each morning to Harris Corp. in Melbourne. There, he is a lead electrical design engineer and does "high-tech military communications for aerospace use." A1 Greenstein, also one of the nation's top engineers, probably would know what all that means, but is never around when you really need him.
Two of our fold are slowly becoming doctors. Tom Taylor, "son of Thomas and Gloria Taylor of Marblehead," according to the Salem Evening News, graduated last spring from Columbia's med school. Almost without hesitation, Tom began his six-year surgery residency at UCLA. And KevinMcLaughlin, according to a source who knows about these things, has finished his second year of surgery as he doggedly pursues a career in urology in Atlanta. As far as I know, both Tom and Kevin are single.
Dan Gilroy is unwed, too, I think. He's left Variety, where he covered the Cher beat, and has sold a screenplay, called Land's End, to, um, someone. He's now at work on a second screenplay.
Also, Sarah Sully gave birth to Jayne Seel Sully Cole, all at once in late August. J.S.S. Cole tipped the scales at nearly seven pounds. Congrats.
