Just a quick column this month, as I have my hands full withanew job. "Whatabum," I can hear the readers mutter. "He only has to do this once a month." Actually, not even that often. Jeanne De Sa writes the column every other month. And on top of that, we only do nine issues a year. What can I say? Time seems to have been hurtling along much faster lately, and I think someone gave me a calendar that only has 23 days in each month.
Lindsey Brace wrote me with details of her Maine wedding to long-time flame Peter Martinez, whom she has known for ten years. The last time she was in this column, I think the news concerned her bionic hip, or something, so this is a much more joyous bit of news.
Lindsey has been in Boston for the past two and a half years working in timber investments and management, after getting her graduate degree from the Yale School of Forestry and the School of Management. That came after a double master's in environmental science and business. Peter is a finish carpenter and the foreman for a contracting company. Wedding guests included about a bazillion Dartmouth grads, including '89s Meredeth McCredie Winter, Maryann Mungovan Murphy, Sue Shons Luria, Ariel Tabor MacTavish, and Kate Saunders Bateman.
Other knot-tyers in the class included Mark Wachen, who married Hallie Eisner in August at the New York Botanical Garden. Mark is the director of new technology and business development at Sony Music in New York. His wife, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin's Madison branch, is working on her master's in public health at Columbia University.
Also in August (why am I so late with this news?) Adam Greenberg married Kate Cohen '92. Adam operates his family's farm in Albany, and Kate is a writer. Last year the University Press of New England published her Neppi Modona Diaries, a collection of essays and excerpts from her family's Holocaust diaries.
Robin Shedlin writes that she is engaged to marry Michael Locker, a Harvard '89 who then went to Yale medical school. Robin is an attorney and currently lives in Chicago. The two plan to get married in the fall.
