It is still onward and upward in their professions for many '54s. Textron Inc. announced the election of Maurice G. Wilkins Jr. to the position of executive vice president of corporate development. "Will" will be responsible for acquisitions and divestitures. He has been serving as group vice president with responsibility for several of Textron financial services operations. Will joined Textron in 1974 after being vice president investment at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, now a subsidiary of Textron.

Ed Rowland has been named a vice chairman and director of Stifel Financial Corp. of St. Louis. He was previously chairman of the Rowland-Simon Company.

S.Jonathan Bugbee Jr., has been named to the position of production manager of the BLM Group, a health care specialty design firm, in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. Jonathan's background is in designing and managing the designs of hospitals and has spent more that 30 years managing architectural offices and providing full architectural services from project conception through occupancy. He holds architectural licenses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and lives in Merion, Pa.

Last November Forbes described Ben Gilson's new freelance career in medicine in an article headed "Rent-a-docs." "Dr. Benjamin Gilson, a Newport, R. I., orthopedic surgeon, gave up a practice in Massachusetts to complete a stint in the navy. When he got out a year ago, he discovered that it would cost him $65,000 a year in malpractice insurance to go back to his old practice. 'That was ridiculous,' Gilson says, adding, 'Private practice requires more than 100 percent of your time, and I did not want that at this stage of my life.' He answered an advertisement in a medical journal for a temporary physicians. Says Gilson: 'lt's a good way for me to keep my skills up, treat patients, and eliminate hassles.' "

I got a great letter from Lyon Greenberg bringing us up to date on the happenings of the Greenberg family. Lyon has recently been promoted at Albany Medical College to clinical professor in the Division of Otolaryngology and clinical professor of pediatrics, the joint appointment due to his subspecialty of pediatric otolaryngology. In addition to his thriving medical practice and academic career, Lyon and his family are one of the larger producers of hay and alfalfa in Albany County, on nearly 300 acres. His wife, Marsha, has been known to help load 15-ton hay trucks when the four Greenberg offspring are off pursuing their academic careers. To quote Lyon, "This proves that a family that hays together stays together." Ohhhhh! Lyon's son joshua is class of 1986, and Adam is the class of 1989. The third Greenberg son is a sophomore at Oberlin, and daughter Elizabeth is a junior at Emma Willard. Those of you in New York who sight a license plate "DART 1954" should know that there is a Greenberg behind the wheel, and the head of the Greenberg

household has just received New York license from Eagle River, Alaska, where Dalt is district supervisor with the National Park Service. The outdoor life must keep you young because Dalt writes, "I have been running a lot this year and participated in 101-mile relay race from Skagway, Alaska, to Whitehorse in Yukon Territory. I ran a six-mile leg from 1,000 feet elevation up to 3,200 feet—definitely not an old man's leg.

Surprisingly, I was still able to dance at the party."
