3 The Intercollegiate Squash Association's individual championships begin in the John W. Berry Sports Center.

4 The film, "Cartoon All-Stars of the Matinee Era," is screened in Loews Auditorium. The Gospel Choir and the Handel Society perform.

10 Novelist Rebecca West speaks in the Wren Room.

11 Winter term final exams begin.

16 Professor David Montgomery talks about "Scientific Ethics, Academic Affluence and Winding Down the Cold War" for the inaugural lecture of the Smith professorship.

17 In 1917, the faculty voted to add a course in military training. The 1,095 students taking the class were allowed to drop one three-hour course in return. Today, ROTC classes are not listed in the course catalogue and do not count towards a Dartmouth degree.

25 An exhibit of works by art professor Varujan Boghosian opens today in the Hood Museum. Boghosian is known for his collages and constructions.

31 In 1913, seniors without employment prospects were invited to President Ernest Fox Nichol's office for job counseling and possible placement. Today, Career and Employment Services coordinates interviews between 500 seniors and 150 campus recruiters.
