Charlie Pineo sent me an article from Insight magazine about the National Championship Air Races held in Reno last September. Miss America, a restored P-51 co-owned by Giff Foley, won two unlimited class events. Charlie also related some recent events from his life. "We just moved back to Colorado (lived here in 1975-76) from Wyoming. The house is still filled with boxes as we slowly get unpacked. My international consulting and trade representation business is still struggling, but fun. We currently are the exclusive U.S. and Middle Eastern representative for an Italian manufacturer of machinery for the soap, plastics, and rubber industries. This is a new undertaking and seems to be developing well—but no sales, yet. My wife, Linda, is an Episcopal priest. Currendy, she is serving a small parish in Leadville, high up in Colorado ski country. The children, Elizabeth 8 and Charlie 20 months, made the move with ease. We made a grand tour last summer with a drive east from Wyoming to Maine and back. Had a brief but relaxing visit with Jack Bassett and family in Delaware."

Several articles were sent to me about Sandy Alderson, general manager for the World Champion Oakland A's. I will save them for a later column.

The übiquitous Dick Glovsky sent some more quick-hitters culled from his latest Alumni Fund telethon. Here we go: BillJaspersohn has written numerous books for children and is currently writing a kids' book about Senator Bill Bradley. ChrisKern worked for many years as a reporter for the Voice of America in Washington, D.C. Steve Entin left the Treasury Department in 1988 and is now with a research group involved in taxes and economics. Allen Brainerd is the business manager of the Student Activities Trust Fund at the University of Massachusetts. Terry Jacobs is a partner in a Philadelphia architectural firm working on, among other things, the new ICA museum at the University of Pennsyl vania. Carl Japikse is in Ohio writing and publishing in the fields of metaphysics and spiritual development. Warren Finker is in North Carolina and sends his regards to one and all as "still a gung-ho alumnus."

In light of Warren's comments, I wonder how many of us are still gung-ho about Dartmouth. I would welcome your thoughts about the current state of affairs at the College and how you view your relationship with the College and with the class.

Take care and write.
