On April 27-28 the annual Class Officers Weekend was held in Hanover. Among 500 attendees, 1927 was represented by Frank and EvelynStrong, Paul and Betty Hanna, Charlieand Ruth Paddock, Peg Funkhouser,Hank Murray, and Dow Mills. At an executive meeting, discussion of a donation from our class treasury to fund expenses of outstanding applicant athletes to visit Hanover was held. Final action was deferred until the fall meeting.

Responses to birthday cards came from several classmates. Mort Cavis reports from Bristol, N.H., that he went to Alaska in '88 and to Europe last year before he earned his gold star. Jack and Nancy Andrews are battling health problems. Dot and Ed Jacob strike a more optimistic note as they attain gold star status. Cam Clokey is an active volunteer in his retirement community, of which he is president. Tom Gillespie, who shares the same birthday as LeeGore, admits they both won gold stars this year. Lee tells us Dottie is now legally blind in addition to her other physical disabilities. Bunny Smith writes from Hilton Head, S.C., that Emily has recovered from cardiac bypass surgery and both play golf. A trip to Alaska is on their agenda. Bob Long sent Us a card from Jamaica while on a cruise through the Panama Canal ending at Los Angeles, where their son, Bob '56, lives.

There are three deaths to report in March, Ben Bell and Jay Willing on March 18 and Lyman "Doc" Milliken on the 19th. Their obituaries will appear in a future issue of the magazine. Note in closing: have a good summer and mark your calendar to attend the fall reunion of our class September 14-15 when Pennsylvania plays football at Hanover. Write or call a classmate to meet you there.
