Bill Patten reports recovery from a fractured hip with his successive steps from hospital to rehab clinic to walker to cane. His wife, Kitty, was in the hospital at the same time with an operation of her own. They are now back at the Friend's Home, recently named the Hickman but with the same old address at West Chester, Pa. They play bridge, and participate in other activities. Their slides of foreign travel from what would seem to be everywhere, are available for reminiscing and occasional display. Their children have been helpful, including Dave '59 and Bill '50.

Ralph Richardson, one of our ordinarily unduly modest classmates, finally sent us a program honoring him for his services to the town of Ayer, Mass. 53 years as town moderator, 35 years on the zoning board, 24 years on the conservation commission, 50 years and still in harness on the historical commission, and 46 years and still in office as Commissioner or Trust Funds. Many statewide tributes were paid to him at the celebration.

Larry Treat reports from Edgartown of a "new two-book contract with Henry Holt for two more of the puzzle books at double the advance I have been getting elsewhere." Larry's new metier of puzzle books, as you may remember, is a logical advance from his previous whodunits. If you have read any of his detective stories you should enjoy his new gimmick. Larry also reports enthusiastically on a recent trip in the mountains of Portugal.
