Bunny (Elnora) Metzel writes from her home in Evanston, Ill., that Bill and I, Carol Kimball, are to be joining her for dinner along with Betye Sollett and her
daughter Betsy, visiting the area from Santa Fe. Bunny states that Betsy "looks so much like her dad you can't help thinking of him when you are talking to her. She is a very sparkling, very delightful, young lady." I am sure that Sumner, looking down from heaven, is well pleased with the impression his daughter creates.
Since a glance at the "Give a Rouse" page of the September issue of DAM did not include any 1923 graduates, you may have missed the item that Truman's son, Truman T. Metzel Jr. '48, was mentioned as recipient of the first Service to Society Award from the Northwestern University Alumni Association for his efforts as owner and operator of Great Expectations, a scholarly book store in Evanston.
Charlie Zimmerman was included in the group of Dartmouth grads awarded the Dartmouth Presidential Medal for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership on its inaugural presentation at the November 15-16 national capital campaign kick-off in New "fork City. All '23ers are proud that our classmate Charlie is to receive this signal award which he so amply deserves.
