Henry Johnson Perkins celebrated his 92nd birthday on January 3 with an open house party at his home in Waitesville, Vt. Then, on the army's 10th, the New England Chapter of the 10th Mountain Division had a birthday luncheon for him at the Camp Mead restaurant in Middlesex, Vt. Henry served with the Army Ski Troops during World War II. He attended the 65th Class Reunion at Dartmouth and continues to attend the reunions of the 10th Mountain Division. The foregoing news items are included in a letter from Henry's neighbor, H. Sewall Williams, who notes also that Henry has finally decided to put away his Alpine skis. Sewall identifies himself as "Henry's volunteer chauffeur and social director."

Mark Whitman continues his interest in painting through the Lake Worth (Fla.) Art Gallery, which provides regular instructional classes. Mark has been attending these once or twice a week over several years. His specialty is landscapes. I expect that it would be worth a visit to Lake Worth just to view these.
