Happy Ort Days

The 90th birthday of Orton Hicks '21 on November 6 did not pass unnoticed in Hanover. Dartmouth's senior statesman and alumni role model was at the center of several heavily attended celebrations hosted by his family, the Kaffee Klatsch, and President Freedman. Members of the Kaffee Klatschalumni who converse daily over at the Inn honored Ort at their morning meeting. They brought in the Glee Club and gave Ort a commemorative plaque. Atthe president's luncheon there were laudatory speeches and gifts which included a reproduction of an early campus painting, the dedication of the Orton Hicks squash court in Barry Sports Center, and a serenade by the Dartmouth Aires.
