Over 20 of our '34 family were present for the taming of the Tiger at Princeton and getting our share of the Ivy football title. It was rainy but not cold, and we had been warmed in advance by the hospitality of Stan and Barbara Smoyer at their home near the stadium. It was a place where Bill and Gerry Scherman, down from Hanover, could meet Tom and Mary Beers, up from Maryland.

Of course the Gene Orsenigos made it, and the Vin Cerows and Bill Judd from Connecticut. The Howie Rosenblums joined Joy Dwyer and me representing Westchester County; and Jane DeRiemer, up from Delaware with Hank Bryan and son, attended her second game of the year. SolonPalmer came smiling in his wheelchair.

After hearing about her fascinating bike tour in England last summer I thought HelenClark might wheel down, but it was a bit far. Also too distant for Harry and DottieEspenscheid, who had returned from their Dartmouth Alumni trip to Russia, which was a fine experience for the oldest alumnus in the group. Besides, those Tennessee walking horses needed Harry to cruise the fall woods on their old stagecoach trail.

While in Madison, Wise., for my son's wedding this fall I caught Bob Staufifer at home. He is a retired prof and taking things easier now. The wedding was the second for each and quite upbeat they had met when he answered her ad.

I promised we'd list our five remaining among Rand McNally's top 100 retirement cities. Residing in #72, Myrtle Beach, are Earland Dorothy Draper; in #88, Charlottesville, Charley and Helene Strauss and EdithMosher; in #92, Chapel Hill, Ed and BettsBishop and Mildred Engel Handelman; in #98, Pompano Beach, Bill and Bev French; and in #99, Hilton Head, S.C., Gillie and PruGilmore can show you around.

We will be updating directory addresses once a year through the Newsletter. It will be based on the address then listed with the College, but it would help if you gave BillScherman and me advance notice of changes.
