Dartmouth Night, or Homecoming as it is now called, was a huge success in Hanover. The weather was crisp and autumnal, and the football team beat Yale handily. Many classmates made the trek to the Plain, and enjoyed the usual stellar hospitality at the Inn as arranged by the Cube. Among those seen at the gathering on Friday or Saturday, at the game, at the Class Meeting, or around town, were Clem and Ann Malin,Dick and Georgia Whitney, Abner andCindy Oakes, Tom Rosenwald, Fritz andBecky Simms, Bob (the good one) and PamFaulkner, Wally and Sybil Pugh, JackTamagni, Howie Sodokoff, Boodge andLibby Erwin and son Tom '91, Becky andRuss "Hatchetman" Brace, Josh and Barbara Robinson, Mike Levy, PeteLauterbach, Line and Robin Spaulding,Leo the McKenna, Bob and Sara Danziger,Phil and Cindy James, Rick Worrell, JackWheatley, and Roger and Anne Bensen.
Fifteen of the above swarthies attended a class meeting on Saturday morning presided over by our esteemed and experienced prez, the Malin. Items: the class is solvent; Fritz Simms was appointed Class Sergeant at Arms; Ab Oakes is cranking up the Alumni Fund drive; Harper and Conroy are negotiating with the College to be the first class to hold a reunion in the fall (September 1996); Art Zich is organizing a class time capsule; Russ Brace reported on the Alumni in the Schools (AIS) project; and Cube is planning the annual Fun City Fantastic at the Yale club in New York for January 29-31, to include lunch at Hal Gordon's apartment and a Super Bowl party at the Yale Club.
In other news, Charlie Morrissey reports that Skip Dickerson of the University of Vermont led a workshop in July offering an overview of King Arthur, the roots of the legends, and the themes and stories. RogerSchumacher called to say that he had sent a special getwithit tape to John Allen to show him what he missed at Reunion. John promises to be at the next one. (We are starting a list of all the guys who say that they will be at the next reunion, and we'll hold them to it when the time comes. Tony Bruscino will be the Enforcer.) Win Bridge called and wants some more reunion socks. (Happy to oblige-and there are more socks, sweaters, and braces if anyone wants them. Just drop me a line.)
Merry Christmas to all, and include die last weekend in January in New York in your New Year plans.
