Since last we spoke, my mind has been swirling in so many directions as to leave me more dazed and confused than normal. I know this will come as a shock to those of you who didn't think it possible, but it's true. I will attempt to pull some coherence out and leave it on this page.

It's probably true that, for better or worse, a majority of my role models are television characters. I find myself reliving my childhood through Fred Savage's eyes, or always trying to get the corner stool at the neighborhood watering hole.

It bothers me that now that most of us are thirty-something, they cancelled the show. When I was twenty-something, I looked upon that collection of friends as being a little old and occasionally depressing. Now that I have reached that age, I need to know how to handle myself, and my role models are gone. How am I going to handle confrontations with my boss, or, better yet, how am I going to react to my college classmates at reunion? Fortunately, or unfortunately, I won't have to deal with that for a couple of years, but do you know what I mean? At our Fifth Reunion we hadn't yet completely shed our collegiate personalities, and some of us managed to behave like undergrads. But how will I react to the people I've been writing about the past few years the ones who have been so successful in business or medicine or saving the world. I need that guy Michael to show me how to hide my petty jealousies, but I'll probably end up like Elliot and make a fool of myself.

Speaking of people who are moving up on the ladder of success, Carolyn WilcoxGaliette is doing just that, leaving Aetna Life in Hartford to help form I ronwood Capital Partners Ltd. Carolyn is a vice president of the investment bank which specializes in financial advisory services.

Marrin Hibbard Robinson has made quite a splash in the art world. After traveling and painting extensively in Europe and winning numerous scholarships and awards, Marrin was recently hired in the visual arts faculty at Marlboro College. Marlboro is a small and distinguished four-year liberal arts college in southeastern Vermont. Marrin received her M.F.A. from Washington University and recently completed an exhibition at the Hopkins Center.

Unfortunately, that's all I have for now, but I look forward to passing on some more insight and information in the months to come.
