DARTMOUTH PROFESSOR Thomas E. Kurtz, who co-invented the BASIC computer programming language with former President John Kemeny, has received the Computer Pioneer Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. The pair also developed one of the world's first computer time-sharing systems. President Kemeny had previously received the award.

Kurtz
