Recently I have received news from Austria, by way of Tuck School, regarding the activities of WolfgangThumb. He is director of finance for an Austrian holding company which is engaged in mining, railroading, and tourism. Wolfgang and his wife, Gertrude, have three children who are all involved in the educational process. Isabel is studying for an M.D., Norbert is enrolled in a technical university studying informatics, and Evelyn is working towards a business administration degree. Wolfgang's extra-curricular pursuits include opera, theater, concerts, art expositions, and, believe it or not, snowshoveling. That must be a holdover from his days in Hanover. Last year he enjoyed meeting Gus Aberle, who was on a business trip to Vienna.

Bob Garver has been named as a broker/ agent with Prudential Kelly-Scott Real Estate Company in Hilton Head, S.C. Bob and Judy moved there from the Boston area in 1987 and both took up real-estate careers. For a number of years Bob was president and CEO of the Charlestown Savings Bank, retiring at the end of 1986. He and Judy have two daughters in the Massachusetts area who have produced four grandchildren so far with one more on the way, and a son in Los Angeles who is working in the film industry. Bob and Judy are active in their church and enjoy the easy access to their power boat. Bob also sings with the Barbershoppers and is a member of the Power Squadron and the Country Club of Hilton Head. Several times a year he sees MikeFletcher, who travels between Vermont and Florida with the seasons. The Carvers are finding life at Hilton Head to be very relaxing and enjoyable, and they recommend it to any northerners ready to head south.

The Kresge Foundation of Troy, Mich., has elected David K. Page to its board of trustees. David, a native of Detroit, is a senior partner of the law firm Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn. The foundation, one of the ten largest in the United States, was established in 1924 by Sebastian S. Kresge and awards challenge grants to non-profit organizations in fields such as higher education, arts, humanities, and social services. After Dartmouth, David graduated from Harvard Law School and was named a Fulbright Scholar. He and his wife, Andrea, live in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and have three children: Mark, Jason, and Sarah.

Brown University Political Science Professor Newell "Mickey" Stultz is in his 27th year there and still enjoying teaching and his special interest in South Africa. Over the years he has made a number of visits to that troubled country, including one last summer, when he managed to escape the hurricane that struck the East Coast. Mickey is greatly encouraged by the latest South African developments. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children: daughter Amy is involved in social work at Mass General Hospital, and son Elliot '83 is an attorney in Manhattan. Although retired as an active harrier, Mickey still participates in track as a finish judge and says he has some difficulty in maintaining perspective at the Brown-Dartmouth meets. He runs into GeneGivens'son Chad, who is at Brown, and has seen Swifty Lawrence and John Harlor recently.
