Featured is a renovation project which won Jim Estes the merit award in the Annual Builder's Choice Design and Planning Awards competition. The project, which won out over 500 other entries, is in Jamestown; R.l.Jim is an architect practicing in Newport.
It is a measure of our age, I guess, that the children of '67s seem to be getting as much press coverage as their parents these days. A recent feature article in the Boston Globe profiles Emily Hodgson, the 15-year-old daughter of John Hodgson. Emily has been stunning people regularly with her times in major track competitions. She broke the record at the Manchester Invitational cross-country meet last fall by 35 seconds. Among other achievements, Emily holds the state championship in the 1,600-meter event with a record of five minutes, three seconds. The paper credits her success to her work ethic, her drive, and her coach Ellen O'Neil '87—another Dartmouth connection.
