News from the career front this month is that Sam Ostrow has been named President of the Rowland U.S. public affairs division of Saatchi and Saatchi. It's nice to know that Sam has something to keep him busy when he isn't working as head agent to meet our Alumni Fund goals.
Tom Mauet wrote to tell us of a different kind of change, having married Gloria Tones recently. Tom is living in Tucson, Ariz., and teaching at the University of Arizona College of Law.
Recognized by the Boston Globe as one of the two men closest to new Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter (the other being U.S. Senator Warren Rudman), Tom Rath has been receiving much publicity lately. As former New Hampshire Attorney General, Tom formed what the media are calling "the three musketeers" with Souter and Rudman. An interesting historical footnote is that it was Tom who passed up Governor Thompson's nomination to the New Hampshire Superior Court in 1978, which Souter then took. Tom now is the expert on Souter, having become the focus of interviews in attempting to predict the judicial course of the new justice.
The annual dinner mini-reunion (with preliminary squash tournament for those who wish to play) was held in Boston on January 26. It was definitely the place to be. This is the month to send me a note.
