Nearburg, a businessman and geological engineer, heads up an oil exploration and production concern based in Dallas, Texas, that runs 130 wells in the middle of the country. Industry people call him a smart, tough competitor. He also plays hard: he is a professional race-car driver and front-runner in the Toyota Formula Atlantic Championship Series, the final stepping-stone to Indy car racing.
