Artist, Importer
Nam mokwunye fills his canvases with brilliant expressionist colors in a distinctly African form. His pieces have already been exhibited in the Open Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and are selling briskly in Boston. When he is not painting, he is importing African clothing and selling designer T-shirts through a company he co-founded with Mark Peterson '91, Abdul Kallon '90, and Noble Ekajeh '93. A native of Nigeria who attended a tiny prep school in Alabama, Mokwunye links several cultures in both his art and his business.
