Occasionally we get letters from children of our classmates. Art "Moon" Mullen's daughter Marjorie sent thanks for a gift to the Alumni Fund in Art's memory. Gordon Hope's daughter Nancy Chase responded to her father's birthday card by documenting his death in June of last year.

The Alumni Records Office in Hanover is grateful to be notified whenever a classmate dies so they can update their records and an obituary can be published in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. The Magazine office has files on long-dead alumni whose obituaries have never been submitted. Your assistance here would be appreciated.

Recently, The New York Times recorded an incident that showed the effective and rapid spread of information by e-mail on the Dartmouth campus. A student who was unprepared for an upcoming exam in Government 29 used the system the night before to send the message that the exam was canceled on the following day and signed the name of a department secretary. As a result, nobody came. The perpetrator was never caught.

Gordon Colby has consented to replace Tom Gillespie as '27 head agent for this year's Alumni Fund. Please be mindful of his burden and assist him with a generous gift.
