The Voice of Dartmouth Toothall

A SA HIGH SCHOOLER in Fairhaven, Vermont, Rick Adams used to watch sportscaster Tony (no relation) Adams on the local channel coming out of Burlington. Little did he know that he would one day replace the long-time Dartmouth football announcer, and attract a following of his own. Ten seasons have come and gone since Rick Adams took over the play- by-play for Dartmouth College radio. His smooth delivery and quick knowledge of Big Green players and history have become a familiar part of the Upper Valley autumn; the return of his voice has become part of the rhythm of the year.

He has other connections to both the team and Dartmouth —a 13-year-old nephew helps keep stats, an older nephew has been a ball boy; Rick's day job is with the College's Public Affairs office. But it is his voice he is recognized for. He has just a few signature phrases, but an inimitable style. When you hear an announcer say, "Wow!" or "You're listening to Big Green Football," there can be no mistake whom you're listening to. To hear the voice ofDartmouth football go to .
