First, updates from my previous column. MerleWeiner and Tom Lininger are the proud parents of Charles Eli Weiner-Lininger, who arrived on September 7. Lynn Fabrizio is planning to accept a clerkship with the chief judge of the court of international trade in New York. In the interim, she is now serving as the U.S. representative for the World Trade Organization for the Department of Commerce and travels to Geneva and other interesting places like that. Sigh some people have all the luck. Karen Farbe Matjucha and her husband, Ippolit, are living in a 4,000 square-foot house on five acres in Sudbury, Mass. They have lots of extra space (sounds like an invitation to me!) and their current tenants include foxes and deer. Karen also was promoted to senior manager at Deloitte partnership here she comes!

On to new news. Lori Bamberger is still with the HUD, but has left the craziness of Washington, D.C., for San Francisco, where she is working on local welfare-to-work strategies. Noble work made even more so by the fact that the HUD region she covers include HAWAII!! Hey Lori if you need an assistant, my bags are packed! Lori also reports several '85 sightings, including: SteveMines, Mark Inkster, and John Palmer.

Beth Ann Parish is doing marketing for a hair-care company and is busy nesting with hubby David Williams in anticipation of their first child, due in March. Beth says that, "I haven't slowed down much, but know some changes will have to happen!" As all of us parents can testify, Beth, you don't know the half of it!

Dan Fagin definitely gets our '85 class Watcher of the Month Award. While attending Dru Van Hengel's November 9 wedding to Joshua Patlock in Santa Barbara, Calif., he spotted Chris(Clougher) Blelloch, Jim Caras, AlisonFrankel (Dan's better half), Vicki Jacobs,Tricia Marinilli, Jeanne Miller, Mary(Rood) Parlato, and Diane (Rizzi)Perna. Alison is a senior writer at American Lawyer Magazine and they have two kids—Anna 5 and Lily 2. Dan is also about to be a published author. The title is Toxic Deception: How the Chemical IndustryManipulates Science, Bends the Law, andEndangers Your Health, and draws on his experience as Newsday's environmental reporter for the past five years. Whewjust typing the title makes me nervous!

Jim Sapienza reports that he is working for Astra Merck in California on healthcare solutions for government programs such as Medicaid (good luck!). Between balancing home ownership and son Hunter, Jim has been doing triathlons in his spare time, winning in 1995 and 1996. Jim now claims to be retired, but we'll believe it when we see it. He reports several close friend sightings at Reunion, including: Elena Aekofski Dean, MichaelFadil, and Chris McCartie.

I had a great time talking with Lee andAnnette Klein, who are living in Bar Harbor, Maine, after 11 years of travel that included work with the Peace Corps and volunteering in hospitals in D.C. and Philadelphia (I think I got that right my daughter was testing her voice during the phone call). Annette is a family nurse practitioner, helping low-income women get prenatal care, and Lee is the coordinator of accreditation and licensing for Community Health and Counseling Services. Lee and Annette report several '85 sightings, including: Heidi Cary Nadiak, LauraRobertson, Rob Patterson, and GlennJordan.

Wrapping things up, Matthew Guild is now the information systems manager for the Savings Bank of Walpole, Mass., after 11 years as a math teacher. And GaryNathanson, living in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has joined the cardiology department of the Mid-Hudson Medical Group of New York.
