The pile of mail on this desk, in its entirety, consists of wedding announcements and wedding results. Clearly, my admonitions of months past have fallen upon deaf ears. Though these be joyous occasions and celebrations of Cupid's errant aim, an entire column of such bliss is more than some of you may want. Alas, to procrastinate further (by making repeated trips to. the mailbox) only pushes my deadline further into the past. As Shakespeare's Puck so aptly quipped when faced with a similar situation in A Midsummer Night's Dream, "My fairy lord, this must be done with haste,/ For night's swift dragons cut the clouds full fast,/ And yonder shines Aurora's harbinger ..." Take heart, we can be buoyed up by the fact that the class is contributing magnificently to the recent surge in the nation's G.N.P. (Gross Nuptial Proceedings).

An August wedding is planned for Susan Wilcox and Peter White. Susan is a graduate of Smith College and currently works as an institutional sales account executive in Los Angeles, while Peter, with an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, is a loan officer at the First National Bank of Boston.

Pamela Gruninger is taking the plunge in October. Pam is a manager of the Fairfield County branch of the Whitney Museum of American Art in Stamford, Conn., and is studying at Hunter College for a master's degree in art history. Her fiance, Charles Perkins, a graduate of Harvard, has a master's degree from Columbia's School of Journalism and is working on an M.B.A. at New York University. Imagine the alumni mail deliveries in that household!

They are dancing in the streets of the Windy City because Marty Milligan has announced his engagement to Pat Graham. A fall wedding is planned in Chicago. Marty, who recently endured a brief tour of duty here in the Twin Cities, is still involved with sales for Champion International. Surely he is sorry to have left town before the first twisters of the season roll through and attack our new domed stadium. Perhaps he still shall catch a glimpse of sections of the "all-weather" roof sailing overhead as the jet stream carries them eastward over Lake Michigan.

If you are looking to get hitched, you should consider moving to Chicago. Bill Klupchak, also a denizen of this region, participated in a May wedding. Otis is currently working for Inland Steel.

Another Chicagoan, Mike Walsh, has announced plans to be married. Details regarding this event, as well as those of Eric Copenhaver and John Macomber, are reputedly on the way to this scribe.

Bert and Freddie were involved in yet another wedding ceremony this past April, in Holden, Mass. Now, get this straight. MarkBerthiaume married Sally McKnight, the younger sister of Freddie Kramer's wife Sue. At any rate, the boys now can spend the holidays together. The wedding drew a fair group of classmates, as reported by faithful correspondent Robbie Overhiser. Please note that he was sent a stamped, self-addressed return envelope to ensure a reply, and he returned the gas receipts for the drive from the City of Brotherly Love to Holden. Also among the participants were John and Cindy Douglas, Jeanne andMichael Brigham, Rocky and Peggy McCloskey, Cheeks Morris '78, Pat and JayJosselyn '76, Laurie and Kevin Youngster, Todd Morris '76, Sharyl Overhiser, John and Margaret Hart, and solo artist Ken Joiner. Aside from Bert's dancing, it was a sedate affair.

Mike Huffman, formerly of 106 Gile, cur- rently lives in Chicago, and is not planning on getting married. The Snake works at the Chica- go Board of Options Exchange trading Warner Communications. This summer Mike plans to spend several weeks in Italy competing in the World Lightning Sailing Championships. Last summer Mike qualified for this event by skip- pering one of the top 15 boats in the U.S. According to Mike, Paul Donovan, another 106 Giler, is doing his thing in Avon, Colo., just west of Vail. Dunny is the mainstay for a small weekly newspaper, performing editing, photographic, and sales duties. Mike and paulgot together last March on the slopes to rehash old tales and dabble in the singles scene

Another phone call brought greetings fto Class Head Agent Drew Kintzinger. D;t, wanted me to remind you, in a very low-key manner, of participation in this year's Alumni Fund. He also passed on a bit of news. peter Kenworthy and his wife are very busy in phila delphia with a new baby and a new house. Betty Stroock has left Denver to pursue a graduate degree in England. She is enrolled in Darwin College of the University of Cambridge Lastly, Dave Dibbell is in the Minneapolis area on his surgical residency.

Folks, that is the news. Feel free over the summer months to bury this secretary with reports of your trials and tribulations. Yes, marathon times will be reported. Have a pleasant summer. See you in the fall.
