By now most of us have turned 140 and older, although I am still a youthful 39.1 suppose what surprises me most at (almost) 40 is the continuing uncertainty. Who has the answers? Who knows the questions? Dan Ernst and his family live outside Washington, D.C. An historian and law professor, Dan teaches at Georgetown Law. Dan probably asks a lot of questions as a law professor, but are his questions the right ones?

Geoff Edelson and wife Lisa are the proud parents of Mia Rachel, born January 15. Mia joins older brother, Benzi, age 2 1/2. Benzi is in a play group with Elana Bird, daughter of Gay and Jerry Macoraber Bird '81. With children that young, this crowd is too tired to ask questions or to focus on any answers. The Edelsons live in Andover, Mass., but Geoff commutes to Manchester, N.H., for work.

Ed McNiery is a vice president for an Eastman Kodak subsidiary, once Wang Software. Ed and his wife, Kate, enjoy their children, their three acres in Groton, and their work in the community, including a project to build a new library. But Ed, is that enough?

On the set of Veronica's Closet, director Bob Berlinger is the man with the answers. Bob and family live in Tarzana, Calif.

When clients call the attorneys of Moscarino & Treu, L.L.P., in Cleveland, Ohio, they expect answers to their questions. When partner Kris Treu takes a deposition, he asks all the questions. (Witness: "Well, what would you have done in that situation?" Kris: "Sir, today I get to ask all the questions.") For Kris's life partner, Nancy Jepson Treu, the answer is to take the boys to Maine for the summer for wonderful childhood experiences among the blueberries, potatoes, and mooses.

Another attorney classmate has answers for estranged spouses of the stars. According to a reliable source who requested anonymity, Stacy Phillips is among the SO most powerful women in Los Angeles law. Stacy has been divorce lawyer for such notables as the wives of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Axl Rose. Perhaps you saw Stacy on Hard Copy discussing the Van Damme case. A Los Angeles superior court judge awarded the unnamed ex-wife of Van Damme $1.3 million a year in support. Stacy, my question for you: How can I become the estranged spouse of a star? Dr. Debbi Kees-Folts is a professor at Penn State. Debbi and husband Tom live in Hershey, Pa., with their children Claire and Ben, ages 7 and 2. Debbi splits her time between children, teaching, outpatient clinic, and patients. How long can Debbi maintain this pace? If you are a migrant worker in Wisconsin and need to see a doctor, ask for Dr. Fred Groos. Fred works for the only migrant health clinic in Wisconsin, helping people who may fall between the cracks in the health-care system. The cheese harvest is a particularly busy time for Fred.

In Milford, N.H., Mike Perella is the man who can answer whether you will receive a commercial loan from the Amoskeag Bank. A recently elected member of the board of directors of the Milford-Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce, Mike no doubt can answer questions about the business climate there. Live free or die! Back home in Bedford, wife Alison has all the answers as she presides over the three young Perellas. Is that all there is? That's all for now.
