Kirk LeCompte was appointed vice president of worldwide marketing at a neat company called PenOp. They add legally effective signatures to electronic documents. Earlier in the year Kirk testified before the House Finance Committee of Congress and the Senate to educate them on issues surrounding digital signature technology. As Kirk said, "As I was in D.C. offering insight into software, Linda Tripp was briefing everyone on hardware."
Jack Fuchs and his wife, Lisa, had their first child, Zachary Brian, last November. Jack is vice president of worldwide marketing at Becton Dickson, a medical device company. His tremendous business experience with the Dartmouth Dining Association is really paying off now. Jack also gave me the lowdown on a number of classmates. Eddy Kim and his wife, Hanne, live in Randolf, N.J., with their 14- month-old daughter. Probably one of the few classmates who has had the same work address since graduation, Eddy has just assumed new responsibilities as dean of faculty at the Delbarton School in Morristown. John Kirtley and Joanne have a one-year-old son and live in Irvine, Calif., where he is the general manager of a GE spin-off. Mark Baldwin and Mimi are living in Holyoke, Mass., and have a 14- month-old daughter. Mark has returned to teaching and coaching. Dorn Bishop has been made partner at Latham and Watkins in San Diego. He and Susan have a two- plus-year-old son. Gary Green and Carolyn live in Basking Ridge, N.J., and are expecting baby #2 to keep Emily com- pany. Gary transitioned from corporate law to AT&T. Ken Klemm and Leslie live in New Orleans, where he has made a name for himself at a prestigious law firm in Louisiana. With Leslie as a nurse, they work pretty hard (but they play hard and "throw a mean party"). Tim Portland and Elizabeth have two children and still live in Buck Head (the lovely northern part of Atlanta). Tim went from McKinsey to a small telecom venture and is working on his already good golf game. MichaelRockefeller is living in NYC with his wife, Tara, and three-year-old daughter, Eliza. Benton Routh took a line management position with Mobile Oil in New Orleans after a long stint with Booz Allen in Dallas. Jack calls Benton a "Dallas loyalist."
Mark Sachleben and Linda live in San Francisco, where signs show they are slowing down an incredibly hectic pace. Mark closed a huge deal in Poland with a small investment banking firm called Group Robinson. Jane Su is living is Singapore and working for Bank America in the investment banking area. Peter Westley lives in Tiburon with his wife, Lisa, and they are both going at a frenzied pace in the investment banking world. GregAbate and his wife, Sophia, welcomed Santino on June 12.
Susan Moynihan had a baby boy named Liam Andrew last November to keep sister Kylen from getting into trouble. JohnPaterson and wife, Samantha, are the proud parents of one-year-old Griffin. Griffin is busy learning Spanish for toddlers in order to help daddy in his new role as director of sales and marketing for PeopleEn Espanol magazine, the Spanish language spin-off of People magazine. Gee, Mexico LSA paid off! Since our 10th Reunion Patrick Welch and his wife, Charlotte, added two more boys to their one (Briggs). Dylan is 13 months, and Holden is two years old. In June they moved from Dallas to Greenville, S.C., where John took a position as a cardiac electrophysiologist with Upstate Cardiology, a local cardiology group.
Lisa Richardson let me know that last May Julie Pierce Williams, JonnoWilliams's wife, pulled off a surprise party for his graduation from the U. of Maryland, where he earned his master's degree. People came from the east and west coasts to attend, including Joe Leake, wife Liu-An, and children Jared and Jason; Raleigh Floyd, wife Allyson, and daughter Daria; Tiger Robinson and Lucy; TinyaBanks. Of course the Williams children, Kira and Tanner, were adorable and "a little suspicious of the sudden addition of a dozen Dartmouth 'aunts' and 'uncles to their family." After only two months, Debbie (Berke) Williams was promoted to director at MicroAge.
