Laura Gillespie has reentered her former life as a tour leader for educational study tours. Last January she accompanied a Smithsonian Institution group to Machu Pichon in Peru for one week. This is all in addition to being mom to twoyear-old Ethan. Beau Giannini is a father of two and owns his own promotional products business in San Francisco. Javier Axizmendi is helping the scenery of San Francisco as an architect for a large firm, while his wife is a resident at Stanford in the E.R. Word has it that Chris Lord got married in Hawaii. That's smart because then you're right there for your honeymoon! In February Greg Labate, his wife, Sophia, and baby Siena moved from L.A. to Orange County. Greg writes, "Lots 'o new clients just waitin' to be sued, and Sophia will be closer to her family in Laguna Hills." Lelia Mellen became a mom, last summer I believe. Joel Riggs has moved from being a cartographer working with commercial real-estate clients to the world of products. He started a new publishing firm called Been There. The first product is an aerial photoguide to the Union Square/Moscone Center shopping and convention district of San Francisco.
John Dzenitis earned his doctorate from MIT last spring and moved to St. Louis to work for Monsanto. He is an affiliate faculty member of Washington University. "More importantly," John writes, "my wife, Beth, and I are proud parents of Ellen Ryan." John sees Wash. U. faculty member Phil Bayly and believes that Phil and his wife, Rebecca, have two children. One thing about our class is that we appreciate the efforts of those who volunteer their time. Recently, Class President Liz McClintock presented Vice President Burgie Howard with a set of four tumblers from Simon Pearce engraved with "Dartmouth Class of 1986" in appreciation for his great work as class president and as a faithful representative of our class to the College. Much deserved!
Amy Singleton has a bunch of great news. She got married at the end of May to Bill Adams (Harvard '82, Columbia Med '86). They honeymooned in Russia and Eastern Europe. Amy is an assistant professor of Russian at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA., so the language was not an issue. Also, Amy's book about Russian culture called No Place Like Home: The Literary Artist and Russian Cultural Identity is out now. Kirk LeCompte let me know that J.J. Jamieson is getting married in July to Tana Nugent of Santa Monica. Alex Rossides shuttles between Boston and N.Y.C. as a management consultant. Jon Underwood is home in Alaska, working with the family business, retailing pet food and supplies. He does a lot of skiing under the midnight moon. Jon and his wife met up with Corey Brinkman and his new wife, Marie.
