Preliminary planning of a new building to house the math department and to honor the memory of former College president, mathematician, and computer pioneer John G. Kemeny is in the works. The additional building will solve a problem of lung division the department has, been divided into illrec different buildings tor years.
Early estimates put the cost of the building between $7.5 and $11 million, depending on the number of classrooms and other program considerations. The College will soon begin a search for an architect for the new building, which likely will be located across from Moore. hall-the new psy "choiog building—on the north end of Berry Row. If you don't know where Berry Row is, take heart. There is no such thing—yet. Following in the tradition of Dartmouth Row and Mass Row, Berry Row is the moniker campus officials are giving to the construction north of the new Bern Library.
