From time to time, John Orcutt forwards me a postcard with a color photo of a recent architectural success. The most recent photo I received was of a private residence in Wilmington, Del. Admittedly, what I know about architecture could be put into a thimble, but I know a good thing when I see it, and what John does, he does right. He runs Orcutt Associates in Yarmouth, Maine.

I know Bob Johnson won't mind my borrowing from his June/July '59 Line, because it might be helpful for you to know that the class has a new liaison with the Alumni Council. Scott Palmer's term on the Alumni Council has expired, and Myron Lewis of Memphis and Dick Pearson of Fayetteville, N.Y., are currently on the Alumni Council. Bob reports that Dick, who is representing a New York State constituency on the council, has agreed to act on a temporary basis on behalf of the class by forwarding your questions, comments, and concerns to the council. (He will do this as his two-year term progresses but only until the class elects its council representative for a threeyear term at the 40th Reunion next June). According to Bob, classmates with such comments, questions, and concerns can reach Dick at 308 S. Manlius St., Fayetteville, NY 13066; by phone (305) 637-9644 or via e-mail .

Doug Wise, chair of our 40th Reunion committee (June 14-17, 1999), and a host of '59 volunteers are well into planning and organizing our 40th Reunion. Among other things, preliminary plans call for: (1) a Mousilauke overnight option; (2) a series of panel discussions, tentatively grouped under the rubrics "Yesterday's Influence on the Rest of Our Lives, Staying Healthier Longer, Smelling the Roses, and Giving Back"; (3) plenty of entertainment, including a picnic, a half dozen talented live musical groups and open piano in the class tent, and class golf and tennis tournaments. If you have not yet indicated that you are a "yes," a "maybe," or a "no," please do so soon, as it will assist the committee with its planning. Doug's address is Pout Pond Road, P.O. Box 286, Lyme, NH 03768; phone (603) 795-2888. You're not going to want to miss this one!

There is a reason that these paragraphs are not loaded with newsy items about what you are doing. Of late, the mailbox intake has been dwindling off, and the phone hasn't been ringing off the hook, either. How about sending me a green card or a note in the mail or giving me a call? Your classmates would like to hear what you're up to these days, whether or not you have moved any mountains. Have a nice Thanksgiving!
