First, let me thank the outgoing class officers: KarenFrancis (president); BradHutensky (class secretary); Leah Daughtry (treasurer); Caroline Bergman and Pamela Ciszewski (newsletter editors); Kyle Gore (head agent); and K. Page Boyer and Leigh Miller Garry (mini-reunion chair people). Your time and effort over the last four years has been much appreciated.
My becoming your new class secretary is pretty ironic: as soon as I get a venue through which to keep my mother-in-law posted of my most recent address, we decide to buy a house. (It makes her crazy that we've moved some eight times since graduation.) So you won't need to check the monthly address changes below my column. It should remain constant for quite some time.
On to the news... Doug Burke and lllyssaGolding moved to Los Angeles in July. (Doug, in fact, just got there a week before I wrote this column, and is what is known as "a trailing spouse"). He says they are SINKs now (Single Income No Kids), but he's willing to work for food. Illyssa is doing her residency in radiology at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. DerekChow and Jan Gordon are out in L.A as well. Jan is producing a TV show called "Electric Coffeehouse" (look for it!) and Derek is marketing mutual funds for Nuveen. Doug tells me that Linda Fenn is living in Connecticut, has a two-year-old baby girl, and is interested in getting back into teaching. Ray Wood is working at First Boston in New York. DavidWeld and Ted Kyriakis are starting a software company, Subtle oftware in the Boston area. . .
Lisa Allard DiBrigida is now practicing pediatrics in Manchester, N.H. and husband Joe is an attorney. They have a four-monthold baby, Sarah. Susie Huang transferred to Hong Kong with Morgan Stanley (her husband is targeting Chinese investments) and wants people to look her up if they are in the bastion of capitalism. Also in Hong Kong is Mark Koehler working for the State Department (Mark, look Susie up). Barbara Mcelwaine and Ed Galligan are expecting a second child (their first, Conor, is three and precious) and bought a new home in Connecticut. Ed is running a family-owned florist business. Barbara is, among other things, caring for Conor
Diane Nesto Williams and husband Chris just had a boy, Chase, and they are living in Hopkinton, Mass.
More on the Boston crowd: Dr. AnjaliHulyaker and husband Dr. Rom Chuttani had a baby boy, Aneesh, in April and are living in Quincy, Mass. Tom Martinson got married last fall and is working for B.R. Alexander and Sons, an insurance firm in Boston.
Jeff Walker is director of business affairs for Sony Music. Now he actually gets to meet the lawyers and managers of famous people instead of just talking to them on the phone. I have Jeff looking through his rolodex. AmySegal is married to Dr. Andy Blum and is a trust-and-estates attorney at Caplin and Dreysdale in Washington, D.C. Lisa Stockman is in marketing at HBO after having finished her M.B.A. at Wharton in 1992. Lisa is married to Rick Brown '86. Kerry Osborne adopted Alexander Zachariah Rivers (Jeff told me I could confirm the spelling of Zachariah in the bible), and works for the National AIDS Task Force in San Francisco.
I'm looking forward to my tenure as class secretary. I'd like to update you on every class member within the next five years, but I'm afraid people will stop returning my phone calls: Jeff only did because he thought I was going to make it to New York, and DaniKlein did because she thought I was going to be in D.C. (where she performed this summer). mer). More on Dani next month. Stay tuned, write, and return my calls!
