Silver Honors for Ivy Women
Dartmouth alumnae athletes were recognized in 1998 for their role in shaping women's athletics over the last 25 years. As part of its women's Silver Anniversary celebrations, the Ivy League announced an honor roll of champions, naming two players per sport from each of the eight Ivies. Dartmouth named entire rosters in each sport as well as sailing and skiing. Almost 3,000 Dartmouth athletes were contacted to vote for the teams. The main event in the fall celebration was a traveling collage of photographs and text that exhibits the accomplishments, milestones, and history of Ivy women in sports. Other events are scheduled for this winter and spring.
