Conversation with telephone chief executive, Bob Griswold: "So you moved out of the 381 exchange. Where did you go?" "Scottsville; over on the other side of the county." "Oh, exchange 889. It's nice over in 889. But, it's nice in 381, too."

Buck Henry is one of the three players in the long-running Broadway play Art, the Tony Award-winning work of Yasmina Reza which is now in its fourth cast. Buck plays the reactionary Marc, a high-energy fellow who is forced to endure a three-page-long soliloquy of prenuptial woe from the character Yvan. A clever article in The New YorkTimes studies the reactions of actors who must listen to long speeches. Do they make their market list, try to remember if the cat was let in? Buck says, the part "solves its own problems. It's such a complicated story, you have to listen to it in order to stay afloat." Accompanying the story is a photo of Buck, listening resignedly. He has turned gray and looks a bit Jack Lemmon-like, but it is loveable he. Although Buck has appeared in many films, this is likely to be his first Broadway part if not his first live-stage venture since his days with Warner Bentley and the other Henry Williams. From all the reviews and private recommendations, the play is funny and excellent entertainment. For those of you who have missed Buck's amusing self at reunions, he is now playing at the Royale Theatre. See him. Hear him. Performances at eight. Matinees on Sunday at three o'clock.

Vic Trautwein has succeeded WhiteyDunlop as mini-reunion chair (401-682- 2393). Congratulation to him on his appointment and on his recent marriage to Ginny. They met in 1953, but then married different people. Much later, both were widowed and got back together in 1992. Ginny is from Marietta, Ga., where the couple now winter. In summer they have a condo in Portsmouth, R.I., close to Vic's children in New England. His son Victor '87 met and married wife Leslie, also '87, shortly after their 5th Reunion (our 35th Reunion). They have just produced their third child, Vic's fifth grandchild. Vic retired from R.R. Donley, a giant printing concern in Chicago, where he spent his entire career. After finishing Tuck School, Vic served for three years in the Navy Supply Corps, where he was introduced to Rhode Island. He plays tennis and is moving back into golf.

The mini-reunion plans include our Homecoming on Oct. 23 (don't miss it) and a Harbor Ridge event near Stuart, Fla., in the last week of January 2000 starring RoyAbbott, Dick McDonough, and BillMontgomery. (Don't miss it.) There is a Chicago event to be put on by MarcelDurot and Dru Waitley. (Don't miss it.) A San Francisco event, as usual, over Christmas (don't miss it) and lots more (don't miss either). Read your Crier.

John North, class president, had hornswoggled Bill Montgomery and PeteZischke into serving as 50th Reunion cochairs. A transcontinental team.
