The class mini-reunion in Florida is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 14-15. We'll all be greeting the millennium at Mt. Dora, 25 miles north of Orlando in central Florida. We'll be staying at the Lakeside Inn on beautiful Lake Dora. The inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers a gracious veranda, outdoor pool, lighted tennis courts and nearby golf courses. More details are being mailed to southern '41s. If anyone needs more info, please contact your secretary below.
An early Christmas card from Patty and Tom Trump announced their November move to a beautiful condo overlooking Sarasota harbor at 700 Ringling Blvd., Apt. 708, Sarasota 34236. Tom has a wonderful spirit despite his failing eyesight and a summer of hospitalization and rehabilitation for a broken hip.
Marilyn and Tim Takaro reported in writing to Bob Rainie, the news-hungry correspondent for the DMS Alumni News, that they enjoyed several Elderhostel courses in Houston, Seattle and New Orleans. They also made trips to Turkey and India, where Tim took photos for a later exhibit back in Asheville, N.C.
Venice's Jo and Don Taber also attended Elderhostel and, like the Takaros, they have explored Natchez and the Mississippi Delta. The Tabers also took a trip in October to Australia and New Zealand with stops in Tahiti and Fifi. A high point (no pun intended) was a ride in a hot-air balloon.
Talked to Andy Hunter in November and learned the he had just lost his wife, Fran, to a long battle with a rare muscle-destroying disease accompanied by cancer. Andy and his five children, including two sets of twins, deserve our condolences at P.O. Box 53, West Chatham, MA 02669. Andy had a triple bypass in September, but he feels fine now. He keeps in touch with track teammate Don Blount, who is a retired stockbroker in Barrington, R.I. Their friendship dates back to track competition at rival prep schools and their rooming together senior year at Dartmouth.
